Rockey4 SMART implements a two level security system to segregate users who require read only access from those who require administrative privileges. Shell Protection ROCKEY4 SMART Shell can be quickly applied to DLL and EXE files within minutes to quickly add protection and obfuscation to your application, requiring no alteration to source-code . Remote Updatability Rockey4 SMART is a remote upgradable unit. Any of the configurable contents of the unit can be easily upgraded by simply sending a secured and encrypted update file to your end user. Update files are easily created and edited by the software vendor, then sent to the end user via email in an encrypted format that is designed to run only once for the designated token – allowing full control of distribution. Double clicking on the update file is all the end user has to do to update the contents of the token – easy! Rockey4 SMART utilizes a different set of more powerful encryption algorithms within its CPU – providing higher levels of protection on its update files that you send into the field to end users. Also, as the memory of the unit resides on the SmartCard chip within the token, you can virtually keep read/writing to and from the unit limitlessly- it’s a superb robust unit in the field!
Driverless Technology ROCKEY4 SMART is a driverless security token – requiring no external drivers to support it. What does this mean for you the developer – less headaches! Unlike competing brands, the entire ROCKEY family of products utilizes the operating system HID (Human Interface Device) wherever possible to avoid cumbersome problems that commonly occur with external operating system drivers. It is estimated that 80% of technical problems associated with dongle based protection units is driver related.
