Digital Signature and File Encryption
E-Lock FormSeal - Online Form Signing Solution
Introduction |
FormSeal is a web based online form signing solution that can be integrated into any existing web application without disturbing the workflow. FormSeal supports digital signing of online HTML forms or Oracle forms. The solution enables digital signing and verification from the application itself. |
| |
How does FormSeal work? |
| |
FormSeal is based on a client-server model. On the client side user can digitally sign the forms easily through the web browser and submit it to the server where it is verified. |
| |
| |
| |
FormSeal client component |
| |
The FormSeal client component enables users (on the client side) to digitally sign and submit data through forms (HTML/Oracle), including attachments. This signing occurs on the client side. |
| |
| |
FormSeal supports both Windows clients and UNIX/LINUX clients. FormSeal client component auto-downloads for Windows clients, while for the Unix clients, a script file gets downloaded and the user needs to run this to install the client component. |
| |
FormSeal server component |
| |
On receiving the users' data from the client machine, FormSeal server component verifies the information before accepting it and returns a receipt to the user for the transaction. All verification occurs on the Server side and verification provides information on the validity, trust and expiry of the certificate that was used to sign. | |
FormSeal Workflow |
The diagram below illustrates a typical workflow and how that same workflow would be after integration of FormSeal.
| |
As seen from the diagram above, the FormSeal client component first intervenes at the time when the user clicks the submit button to submit information through a form. |
| |
E-Lock helps the integration of its Digital Signature solutions into the existing systems and workflow of the customers. Various types of its Digital Signature solutions can be combined, or can be integrated with the software from other service provider to make a comprehensive security solution for the customer. |
| |
Instead of going to the intended backend, the FormSeal Server component intervenes at this stage, receives the signed data and performs verification of the data submitted by the client. If the verification is successful, FormSeal returns a transaction receipt to the user. |
| |
| The form data is then forwarded to the original backend for processing. | |
